ACTIVITIES
Cristóbal Colón Spanish School can organise various
activities in Quito and the surrounding area whilst you study
here. Please ask to your teacher to help you with this as
a part of your lessons in short excursions
with other interested students to visit the old town, museums, churches, art galleries, parks, shopping centers
and restaurants. Pay as spanish time lessons.
EXCURSIONS & TRIPS
Cristóbal Colón Spanish Language School can also organise longer
trips with a specified itinerary and budget to the rainforest,
the beautiful beaches, the Andes mountains and the
famous Galápagos Islands, all with an experienced guide of our Travel Agency.
Please note that One day trip to any place around Ecuador is $45
per each person with private transport
included.
1. Cotopaxi National Park:
Travel along the avenue of the volcanoes to Cotopaxi National
Park. Visit Lake Limpiopungo and take a great picture of the
Cotopaxi volcano to send to your friends.
1 day trip. Price: $50 (Four wile drive car transport included).
2.Submmit the Cotopaxi Volcano:
Try getting the top of the Cotopaxi 5.976Mts high volcano with a hard hike of 7 hours of climbing starting at midnight.
Two days trip with equipment, food and transport included is $185. All included except $10 for the entrance fee in the park.
3. Amazonas Jungle Tour:
Visit the espectacular virgen jungle in the Amazonas. Live the impresive wild live and one of the bigest protected areas in the world. Visit the Cuyabeno area.
4days and 3 night tour. Price:
$190 with indian and a bilingual guide. All transport and food over the jungle included. Not included is Bus Quito-Lago Agrio-Quito.

4. Baños City: Visit Ambato and Baños, with its hot springs and spectacular
waterfalls. Try horseback riding, mountain climbing, cycling,
rafting and take a shower in the big waterfall “El Manto de
la Novia” (The Veil of the Bride).
2 days trip. Price: $45 per each day (Transport included)
You can also plan a quick visit to the jungle from here. 7 Hours aditional trip is $45.
5. Otavalo City:
Visit the town of Calderón, famous for its bread dough figurines;
the town of Otavalo known for its "poncho market"; and the town
of Cotacachi, where you can find some of Ecuador´s best leather
handicrafts. Other sites to see include the town of Cayambe,
and the lakes of San Pablo and Cuicocha. Here you can get a
true feel of South American culture.
1 day trip. Price: $45 (Transport included).
6. Quito City Tour: Visit the historical and modern centers of Quito with their
colonial churches, scenic valleys, and beautiful lookouts from
Guápulo and Panecillo.
3 hours trip. Price: $25 (Transport included).
7. Mitad del Mundo Tour:
A trip to the centre of the world - stand on the equator and
move from one hemisphere to another in a single step. There
is also a museum which showcases the history of the indigenous
cultures of Ecuador.
3 hours trip . Price: $25 (Transport included).
8. City Línea Tour: Combined City Tour and Mitad del Mundo Tour.
6 hours trip. Price: $40 (Transport included).
9. Saquisilí Indian Market: Only on Thursdays, travel along the green fields through the Panamericana;
visit the indigeneous comunity and market in Saquisili and
view the Cotopaxi volcano from a distance.
1 day trip. Price: $45 (Transport included).
10. The Hot Springs: Papallacta Visit the hot springs and hike in subtropical vegetation. Enjoy
the earth´s hot water while looking out over the spectacular
view of the Antizana volcano.
1 day trip. Price: $45 (Transport included).
11. Rafting: Río Blanco. Experience the tropical vegetation and the refreshing waters
of the rivers Upano, Blanco and Toachi while doing some white
water rafting.
1 DAY. Price: $70 (Transport and Raffting staff included).
12. Mountaing Biking: Mix height, speed and incredible views as you bike down a 4,800m
high mountain.
1 day trip. Price: $55 (Transport included).
13. Horse Riding Duration:
Antizana is a volcano and national reserve 60km to the east
of Quito. It is an ideal place to spot condors and stay in rustic
cabins at 4,500m above sea level. Enjoy the views on horseback.
1 day trip. Price: $55 (Transport included).
3. Mindo Cloud Forest Town Duration:
This trip takes you to the most natural cloud forests in Ecuador.
Visit the "mariposaurio"
(butterfly house), walk to the waterfalls and enjoy ¨tubing¨
in rubber rings down the river.
Stay at Cabañas "Gran Eden", two hours from Quito, and have
a peaceful night.
